Sun'n'Fun 2024: Polaris Ghost Squadron
Having following their adventures online, one of the most anticipated act for me this year at Sun’n’fun was the Polaris Ghost Squadron.
The simple fact that a private company owns and operates multiple fighter jets notably a Mig-29 is just incredible but they also put on a great display during the airshow. And the reason they train on these jets is even more impressive, being able to take civilians to space whille supporting the St-Jude Institute that helps children with cancer.
After seeing them perform on Friday, I stumbled by chance on Jared Isaacman doing a speech infront of the Mig-29. Hearing him speak about his experiences in space or about the future missions with SpaceX Starhsip was truly inspiring. It leaves you with a special feeling of something surreal but so real at the same time. Watching space exploration from Europe makes it somehow distant and inaccessible cause the main programs have been led by big national entities like NASA but standing infront of a former engineer that went to space on a rocket built by another private company makes it really real and present to our times. In short, it makes you inspired about the future and all the discoveries we will make about Earth and beyond.
